When at all possible, I strive to resolve cases outside of a stressful courtroom setting. Interest based resolution allows the parties to retain control of their case and make some of the most important and life changing decisions together. I often utilize tactics such as negotiation, mediation and the collaborative process to navigate through many domestic cases. The goal is to divide assets and debts equitably and assist my clients in moving forward confidently. I believe that divorce does not have to be emotionally and financially destructive, a marriage can be terminated with the parties keeping their respect and dignity. In the unfortunate event that a proceeding becomes contested or poses an unfair outcome, I have the experience to deliver powerful advocacy in litigation.
At Antonelli Family Law, I provide one-on-one representation in the following cases:
Contested or Uncontested Divorce: Divorce often means dividing assets and debts. Sometimes it also means negotiating the award of spousal support. I provide the guidance and advocacy you need in these matters.
Child Custody and Parenting Time: Let me defend your parental rights and your relationships with your child(ren). I can assist clients obtain both a temporary order as we move through the case and negotiate a final Parenting Plan in the final Divorce Decree.
Child Support: In the majority of cases, child support is determined by the Ohio Child Support Statute. The statue sets forth a formula as a guideline for the establishment of child support. However, it is possible to request a deviation from the statutorily based Child Support Guideline amount in certain cases. I have experience in advocating for such a deviation if your circumstances warrant it.
Modifications: When circumstances significantly change for you, your ex-spouse or your child, it may be necessary to seek a post-divorce modification of an existing family court order.
Domestic Violence: If you or your child(ren) are in danger of or feel threatened as to abuse, it might be necessary to seek a restraining order/civil protection order to keep you and the one’s you love out of harm’s way. I have extensive experience in representing clients in these types of matters.
Prenuptial Agreements: Prior to marriage, it may make sense to have a legal agreement in place to protect your interests, should the relationship end. If a marriage terminates a client may need to prove the terms of a Prenuptial Agreement are invalid. I am skilled in representing clients when these circumstances arise.
Mediation: Mediating a family law dispute offers many benefits. It is often far more cost-effective than litigation, and it tends to save parties a significant amount of time. More importantly, it allows both parties to negotiate and find mutually acceptable solutions to divorce-related disputes instead of placing those life changing decisions in the hands of a Judge.
